Catarina 2017 - Châteauneuf-du-Pape
The year 2017 was characterised by an exceptionally long period of drought during spring and summer. Water stress has resulted in grapes in the most affected plots not maturing as expected. The fruit, picked at early maturity, gave wines with high acidity and moderate alcohol levels. The 2017 white wines are fresh and elegant, with a strong mineral note.
Scallop risotto with black truffles.
The Sommelier's Tips
Serving temperature : 11-13°C.
From 6 to 8 years.
The outstanding 2017 Châteauneuf-du-Pape Catarina Blanc is a richer , more powerful wine that’s going to shine on the dinner table. Buttered citrus, spice, lots of crushed rock-like minerality, and a hint of honeysuckle all flow to a medium to full-bodied, textured, yet beautifully balanced white. Drink it over the coming couple of years.
